What is the self-service password reset feature?

Microsoft’s self-service password reset feature allows you to reset, unlock or change your password if (and when) you need to. To use this feature, register online at any time using your existing username and password that you use to login today.

How does it work?

You use the self-service password reset feature, you must first register your account. This can be completed online at any time, and you only need your existing username and password to activate.

Once registered, if you ever forget your password, you can reset it again yourself. You can also select “Can’t access your account?” on the sign-in page to reset or unlock your account from any device.

How do I register?

Step 1: Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info using your login details as you do today.
Note, if you already have authentication settings activated follow the verification prompts.

Step 2: Follow the prompts to set-up your security questions and authentication options.

Step 3: After you select and set up your methods, choose Finish to complete the process.

Once registered, if you ever forget your password, you can reset it again yourself. You can also select “Can’t access your account?” on the sign-in page to reset or unlock your account from any device.

Once you’ve received for the self-service password reset feature, simply visit passwordreset.microsoftonline.com at any time to reset your password.

Can I use this feature for all my programs and applications?
